They say destiny always takes you back where you started, but it was a dream come true when I took over this restaurant in 2004, one which I started my career as an apprentice about 9 years before then. And for all of you, my beloved customers and friends, I dreamt of reaching my retirement with this little store in Ballajura. That, certainly makes a wonderful story for my future grandchildren.
My name is Will Yang, my friends call me Yang will cook, distant relative of the infamous Yan Can Cook, I'm just kidding of course. I am no big time chef landed from Mars, nor shameless self-proclaimed best of the best, cooking wasn't even my thing at first to be honest. But Confucius said love what you do and you'll never work a day in you life, and I listened. Here I am with 25 years of cooking experience and counting, love or not, my own marriage has a long way to catch up after my retirement.
What do cooking business and marriage have in common? Well, for either to survive, instead of trying to be the best, you just need to be better than yesterday. Like Sisyphus' rock rolls downhill the moment it reaches the summit, when you think you are the best, you'll go down.
